Overview

Gunstoppable is an puzzle game were the player will be playing as a robot who has been tasked with rescuing the hostage from the terrorist. However, the robot can not stop shooting it gun, therefore, the player must navigate these robot throughout the level without shooting the hostage.

In this project, I take the role of a programmer creating the core mechanic of the game and changing it based on the decision of the designer.

Development Challenge

As a programmer the biggest challenge of the project is to research and study the engine and made the mechanic within the limited amount of time. Furthermore, communication between team member also need to be adjusted to be understandable and not waste any resources or time.

Due to the project's large scale and multiple team member we use Trello as a way to manage each member work. This help us track and plan accordingly to the status of the project.

My contribution

In the project, my contribution include coding the core mechanic and creating the framework which the team designer could use and adjust accordingly such as tile map for level blocking and NPC. This way I can work on other part of the game while letting the designer creating and adjust the content of the game without needing mine input, saving us time.

Conclusion/Retrospective

In conclusion, the project introduce a me to the Godot engine and it functionality. Additionally, the project also provided an experience of working and communicating between team member of difference work and how to be efficient with it.
